LOCATION: Bargain Booze off license, Bury New Road, Prestwich
INCIDENT REPORT: 2 men entered the shop, one shortly before the
other, and aggressively threatened staff with what is believed to be a
black handgun. They demanded the tills to be opened and escaped on foot
in the direction of Manchester with a sum of money.
DESCRIPTION: The first man was white, 5’6, short dark hair and
wearing a dark Nike sports top. His accomplice was described as black,
6’ and sporting a dark hooded Nike Athletic top.

LOCATION: Post Office, Eccles Old Road, Hope
INCIDENT REPORT: The post office was robbed by three men - at
least one of whom was armed - when a security van arrived to collect the
takings. The criminals arrived in a Honda Prelude and threatened guards
before making off with "a substantial amount" of cash. They
escaped and switched cars on Voltare Avenue where at least two of the
men left in the direction of the East Lancs Road in a B registration
Volvo 740 which had been parked there at 09:30 that morning. The getaway
car used in the robbery had itself been stolen from a 72 year old woman
as she sat inside on Downham Crescent, Prestwich on Saturday 12th
January.
DESCRIPTION: The men were described as: 6'2", slim and
wearing a black fleece top, gloves and a balaclava, carrying either a
small handgun or a wrench type weapon; 5'6", stocky, wearing a
balaclava and carrying a black, single-barreled shotgun; and 6'0",
black and slim.

LOCATION: Manchester New Road, Middleton
INCIDENT REPORT: Three men broke into the rear of a house
armed with a machete-like weapon, waking the occupants - a 66 year old
man and his wife. They demanded that the keys to the owner's Volvo V70
(registration S507 JBW) be handed over and then escaped in the vehicle.
DESCRIPTION: White, 5'10", slim, fair hair and complexion
with a Manchester accent; another was described as 5'8" and medium
build.

LOCATION: Direct Business Equipment, King Street, Dukinfield
INCIDENT REPORT: A 51 year old woman's handbag was robbed by a
gang of four young men. The bag contained, amongst other things, two
syringes containing an anti-cancer drug and two needles. These drugs can
be harmful if taken by the wrong person - symptoms may include abdominal
pain. The group were seen running off towards a block of flats on King
Street.
DESCRIPTION: They were all white, aged between 15 and 20 years
old.

LOCATION: Davyhulme Road East, Stretford
INCIDENT REPORT: A middle-aged man driving a silver Audi TT
Quattro (YC51 FAO) was attacked and threatened whilst waiting at
temporary traffic lights. He was forced at knifepoint to evacuate the
car and the assailant drove off at speed along Chester Road, in the
direction of Manchester City Centre.
DESCRIPTION: The thief is black, about 30 years old, wearing
dark clothes and a hat.

LOCATION: Victoria Wine, Flixton Road, Flixton
INCIDENT REPORT: 3 teenagers threatened staff with coshes,
assaulting one of them. The three youths escaped in an old-style Range
Rover driven by a forth offender, who was waiting on Reid Avenue. They
scarpered with one of the tills and the contents of another towards
Urmston town centre.
DESCRIPTION: The 3 robbers were white, 6'2" wearing a dark
jacket with white horizontal stripes, 5'10" wearing a black bubble
jacket with white stripes & 5'6" wearing a blue, hooded jacket.

LOCATION: Gala Bingo, Hyde Road, Belle Vue
INCIDENT REPORT: 2 men entered armed with a shotgun and a
machete. A shot was fired into the ceiling when an employee attempted to
grab the gun. He was struck over the head and the robbers escaped with
cash in a dark Rover 600 which was idling outside. The car later
abandoned.
DESCRIPTION: Both men white, 5'7" & 6', one wearing
Adidas tracksuit bottoms, beige jacket and a balaclava, the other was
described as skinny.

LOCATION: Alliance & Leicester Building Society, Deansgate,
Bolton
INCIDENT REPORT: 1 man, suspected to have been armed, threatened
cashiers and made of with "a quantity of cash" before escaping
along Deansgate in the direction of the junction between Bradshawgate
and Bank Street.
DESCRIPTION: White man, 5'10", in his 40s, chubby build and
sporting a moustache with a local accent. He wore a beige cap, dark
green jacket, black trousers and orange tinted glasses.

LOCATION: Hyde Road Petrol Station, Belle Vue
INCIDENT REPORT: 2 men, armed with a handgun and claw hammer
stole cash from the till after threatening the two staff. There were no
injuries
DESCRIPTION: Black, 5'5", blue waist-length jacket, black
jeans and gloves and a black rucksack; 5'6", black jacket and bag.

LOCATION: Nr Merefield Road, Broomwood Estate, Timperley
INCIDENT REPORT: An Asian takeaway delivery driver was attacked
by eight youths armed with sticks, before being physically and verbally
assaulted and having his car vandalised. His assailants escaped into the
nearby housing estate when police arrived - the victim was treated for
injuries to his face and limbs. Detective Sergeant Proudlove
investigating described the attack as "cowardly and viscous"
adding, "it is highly probable that some - if not all - of these
youths are local."
DESCRIPTION: Two of the offenders were described as white, 17-18
years old, one wearing a red jacked, the other green.
